The Alumni provide a
scholarship "Shawnee Mission South Choral Scholarship Award" for a
member of the SMS Choir. The scholarship application is due to
Mrs. Jacobsen by Thursday, April 1, 2010.

SMS Choir Alumni
The Shawnee Mission South Choir Alumni
was started in 2001 under the direction of Dr. Don Donaldson, the first
choir teacher at SMS. They premiered in a concert at Carnegie Hall
in New York, and have continued to meet and perform intermittently since
then.
In 2003, a new focus was added. The
group established the Shawnee Mission South Choral Scholarship Award
to honor the dedication and contributions to the excellence of choral
music during the years since its beginning in 1966 to the present.
Two annual awards of up to $1000 are presented to outstanding senior choir students at
South. Additionally, an annual endowment has been established in
support of the choral program at SMS.
Membership is open to ALL past choir
students, those under the direction of Dr. Donaldson, Marie Lerner-Sexton,
Georann Whitman, Pam Williamson, and Dustin Cates. Please

someone will contact you about becoming a part of a reunion concert you
will never forget.
